Tradescantia zebrina, also known as zebra plant because of its striped leaves, is very easy to care for. It originates from Guatemala and central and southern Mexico. The leaves of the 'Smit Silver Sicilian' zebra plant are elongated, oval, and pointed. The striking feature is the silvery-violet sheen against the green background, along with the two bold, silvery-white longitudinal stripes. The underside of the leaves is a vibrant violet. This evergreen zebra plant, with its long, trailing stems, is best displayed in a hanging basket.
