Ficus elastica, also known as the rubber tree, belongs to the mulberry family and originates from India and Indonesia. There, the rubber tree can grow up to 25 meters tall. In Germany, it was a particularly popular houseplant in the 1980s. For the past few years, it has been experiencing a comeback. The "Robusta" variety is a very easy-care and robust type, whose leathery, vibrant green leaves make it an excellent specimen plant for offices or living rooms.
