Freshly polished car paint can reduce the suction cup's holding power, so the polish should be carefully removed from the affected areas with warm water, dish soap, and a lint-free cloth. The arrangement can later be easily removed by gently lifting the suction cup's base with your fingertip at the edge, allowing air to enter the vacuum. This allows the suction cup to easily detach from the base.
